Weekly Note From the Pastor 9/05/07

Pastor Jeff Williams // September 5th, 2007

It was three years ago today that we held the first service in our new building! I still remember the countless people working half the night, many taking off work, to get the building ready for that first day. That was an awesome weekend in our church’s history; and as the days turn into years, it only gets sweeter. The growth that has taken place since is very significant. We have added many new families and various ministries to meet the needs of our people and the community. We have started a Mother’s Day Out program, a Christian School and now an After School Program. As of this week, there will be four services available and we have started a Building Campaign for a new facility. There have been a couple hundred salvations and rededications, with a large percentage of those remaining right here at TCOC. We have birthed and mothered a church and have seen others who have been called of God to go serve in other places of ministry in obedience. Praise God for what He has done through TCOC in the last three years to advance the Kingdom.

I am reminded about the writer of Ecclesiastes; how he must have been feeling when writing the words: “I hate life. As far as I can see, what happens on earth is a bad business. It’s smoke—and spitting into the wind. And I hated everything I’d accomplished and accumulated on this earth. I can’t take it with me—no, I have to leave it to whoever comes after me” (Ecclesiastes 2:17-19 MSG) were penned. What a horrible reflection and outlook. Thank goodness my feelings are just the opposite; for I know our efforts are having eternal implications. May we continue to hear His voice and obey His directives. When He’s driving, the destination is always reached at the perfect time.

Serving You In Love,

Jeff
